I have a serious soft spot for organic social, and a recent pilot with a healthcare client is a good reminder of why.
They had been running the same paid playbook for years, spending thousands a month across Meta and search, and leads had started flattening out. After a quick audit, I knew budget wasn’t the bottleneck. It was the lack of organic social presence.
Why organic social?
Ads are great at grabbing attention, but people want to check credibility before they hand over their info, especially when choosing a healthcare provider. The quickest way to do that on a Meta ad is to click through to the profile to see the company's recent posts.
An active feed does a lot of credibility work: In this case, it shows off the quality of care, range of services, and the caliber of clinicians on staff.
A stale or inactive profile does the opposite: It reads as outdated, unprofessional, even spammy.
With buy-in from the founders, we launched a deliberately simple pilot:
Post consistently for 6 weeks (twice per week, a mixture of short-form videos and carousels).
Update profiles so they actually reflect who the brand is now, and add website links to profiles so there's a clear next step for anyone checking them out.
Cross-pollinate content to TikTok and YouTube Shorts.
That's it. No new ad spend, just an active, credible organic presence where prospective patients were already looking.
The results:
Organic social went from basically zero to 8% of qualified leads in six weeks.
Not just more leads, better ones. Organic leads booked an initial visit at ~2x the rate of paid.
Organic had the highest rate of kept appointments (no cancels, no no-shows) of any channel.
Organic also had the highest visit-completion rate of any channel.
Bonus: a halo effect on paid. Paid conversion rate climbed 60% period-over-period once the organic presence was live.
Paid may start the conversation, but an active organic presence closes it.
